Abstract
Purpose: To report two cases of acute chorioretinal atrophy following traumatic cataract extraction and intraocular lens (IOLs) scleral fixation.

Methods: Each 47-year-old and 58-year-old male visited our department due to blunttrauma on right and left eye. All Two patients had hyphema, traumatic cataract and zonular weakness. Uncontrolled intraocular pressure (IOP) was also observed. After control of hyphema and high IOP, trans pars plans lensectomy and IOLs scleral fixation for traumatic cataract was performed.

Results: Macular edema and subsequent chorioretinal atrophy was noted on two patients in several days after surgery. The visual acuity was compromised and retinal lesion was not changed.

Conclusions: Acute chorioretinal atrophy can occur after traumatic cataract extraction and IOLs scleral fixationdue to many causes. So, this lesion should be considered before performing lensectomy and IOLs scleral fixation in traumatic cataract.
